The book series “Steel Design” deals with the design of steel structures for buildings. The books are intended as a textbook for students, and are also a helpfull reference guide to the Eurocodes for practising structural engineers.
Steel Design Books is an initiative of Bouwen met Staal, Worldsteel, Infosteel, BauforumStahl and SZS with the support of TataSteel. The idea is based on the collection of study books on steel engineering (according to the Eurocodes) that Bouwen met Staal has been publishing for years.
The series Steel Design Books will, after completion, consist of the following textbooks:
- Structural Basics
- Connections
- Joints
- Design for fire
- Steel-concrete mixed structures
The text of the books is based on the (English) EN version of the Eurocodes using default and/or recommended values. Where a country can make a national choice – or when a non-contradictory complementary information may be used, this is indicated with the following symbol : NA . Separate annexes contain the national choices for Belgium, Germany, GD Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Switserland. These annexes can be downloaded free of charge here.
